Do You Play the Blame Game of Who’s Right and Who’s Wrong?

Date: Sunday 22 April 2018
Time: 2pm-6pm
Venue: see below

Depression, Anger, Guilt, Shame  (DAGS) are caused by moralistic judgements or what we call Life-alienated thinking in Compassionate Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

We direct our Anger outward by blaming others, and direct it inward by blaming ourselves, which results in the arrival of its first cousins – Guilt, Shame and Depression.

Anger tells us we think the ‘bad person’ is somebody else.
Guilt, Shame and Depression tell us we think we are the ‘bad person’.

These are the feelings that result from Life-alienated thinking, moralistic judgements and the ‘domination’ and ‘power over’ systems we live in every day of our lives, in our homes, schools and workplaces. They lead to a culture of violence and bullying, adversely affecting others, or self-harm towards ourselves.

In NVC we call Depression, Anger, Guilt, Shame important alarms which let us know we are disconnected to our needs, values and what matters deeply to us.

What Will You Experience at this Mini-Workshop?
1) Life-serving vs Life-alienating communication
2) Unpacking the language of Depression, Anger, Guilt, Shame (DAGS)
3) Acknowledge without resistance the painful feelings of unmet needs and the ‘Jackal Show’
4) Recognize that DAGS do not arise because of another’s words or behaviour
5) Find the ‘gift’ beneath the Anger and transform it into Life-serving energy to ‘make life more wonderful’
6) Shift your thinking patterns and self-talk that lead to Guilt, Shame and Depression
7) Learn to Mourn the ‘sweet pain’ of unmet needs, painful relationships and to make requests of yourself and others
8) Experiential DAGS Dance on the ‘Flower of Life’
9) Role Playing yourself and those with whom you have an ‘Enemy Image’
10) Build your EQ Literacy with Empathy, Self-Compassion, Gratitude and Appreciation

Explore possible entrenched causative effects and triggers, self-judgements and fear. Learn to mourn and celebrate. Process clarity through the expression of feelings and needs, authenticity and vulnerability. Build gradual understanding and personal transformation, through self-empathy, self-connection, self-acceptance and radical self-compassion.

NVC supports connection with oneself and others so everyone’s needs are equally valued. This allows people to create strategies and meaningful solutions that resolve issues and create thriving relationships in all aspects of life. Using NVC Empathy tools, participants will learn how to transform everyday blame, shame, and critical expression into interactions that focus on mutual human needs. People who practice NVC have found greater authenticity in their communication, increased understanding, deeper connection and satisfying conflict resolution.

Pre-requisite:
If you have attended a NVC Foundation training or The Power of Empathy workshops, and read, studied, watched videos and practised NVC, then this would be helpful to enrich your experience. If you are a “natural giraffe” and/or think you can gain meaningful insights into the NVC Empathy process at work, you’re very welcome to join us. There is learning to be gained at every level, as an observer or participant, and no one is ever turned away.

Empathy Cafe

Empathy is a quality of character that can change the world.
Empathy Cafe
Monday 16 April 2018 @ 6pm – 8pm

Venue:
Mt Vic Hub
24E Elizabeth Street, Mt Victoria
Wellington, New Zealand
Google Map   Mt Vic Hub

Empathy Cafes are based on the principles of Compassionate Nonviolent Communication (NVC). They provide a safe supportive space in building self-compassion and self-confidence towards authentic expression. Developing emotional intelligence & literacy (EQ) skills enables one to engage in meaningful empathic connection with oneself and others, with a highly valued set of tools to navigate a challenging and often complex world of relationships.

Empathy Cafes are held monthly @ 6.00pm – 7.30pm. Dates are flexible and regulated to suit group needs.

Growing Emotional Intelligence & Literacy (EQ)

NVC helps to foster the growth of emotional intelligence and literacy skills, self-awareness leading to self-connection, self-compassion and self-acceptance. This brings clarity, attention and focus to observations, inner thoughts and feelings, expression of values, the beauty of needs and the power of requests.

The Power of Empathy
Empathy is at the very heart of Compassionate Nonviolent Communication (NVC).  It is a profound and total listening, neutral and deep, that does not look to influence the other or the quality of what is being said.  It is being fully present in the moment and listening deeply to the real needs of the person speaking.  While our usual habit is to listen from a place of judgement and evaluation, developing EMPATHY and SELF-EMPATHY skills brings us to a place of connection and harmony within ourself and others.  NVC will help move us towards a new way of thinking and being that brings healing compassionate connection into our life through the Power of Empathy.

This form of NVC Empathy practice can be used very effectively in daily living, adding to the quality of inter-personal relationships at home, at work and in the community.  The outcome is renewed purpose and clarity, where each person is valued, seen and heard with empathy-compassion, and received with appreciation, gratitude and loving celebration.

Your facilitator Sophia has been facilitating Empathy Circles and NVC practice groups for many years in Wellington city, initially with a closed group, followed by an open community group of 15-20 people. Empathy Cafes are a valuable extension to NVC Foundation Trainings and the ongoing practice of Empathy skills.

Sophia initiated and founded the NVC grassroots movement in the Wellington Region 15 years ago, and organised many workshops attended by keen participants throughout NZ.  She trained with the founder of NVC, Dr Marshall Rosenberg, and Robert Gonzales, Miki Kashtan, Sura Hart, Jean Morrison, Gina Lawrie and many other overseas trainers.

Aries Full Moon – Mystery of the Fiery Serpent

ARIES FULL MOON
Mystery of the Fiery Serpent on the Great Wheel of Life

KEYNOTE: I come forth and from the plane of mind, I rule.

FULL MOON
Saturday 31 March 2018 @ 1:36pm GMT/UTC
Sunday 1 April 2018 @ 1:36am NZDT UTC + 13

ARIES, THE RAM
Exoteric ruler: Mars – 6th ray

Esoteric ruler: Mercury – 4th ray

The Rays 1 and 7 are transmitted through Aries.

Aries is one of the constellations of the Cardinal Cross of the heavens. This is the cross of God, the Father, and, therefore, of the incarnating monad. It is the expression of will or power as it expresses itself through the great creative process.

Aries initiates the cycle of manifestation. All souls, as individual entities, come into human incarnation for the first time in the sign of Cancer, emerging as mental entities in the sign Aries, as emotional-desire entities in the sign Taurus and as vital entities in the sign Gemini, taking then physical form in Cancer. This is an involutionary, subjective cycle. Thus they emerge into the ocean of physical plane existence, into the world of matter. Yet the first impulse is awakened in Aries, for Aries is the place where the initial idea to institute activity takes form. It is the birthplace of ideas, and a true idea is in reality a spiritual impulse taking form – subjective and objective. There originates the response of the soul to the highest aspect or quality of deity because there appears the “will to incarnate.” The first ray aspect of the Monad, responding to the first aspect of deity, evokes response from the first ray aspect of the soul and the first step towards incarnation is taken on that plane in the system which is the mental plane. Aries “awakens the will to reach the lowest and there control, to know the uttermost and thus to face all experience” – thus runs an ancient statement.

The keynotes of the sign Aries are four in number, all conveying the same idea. They can be expressed in the following four injunctions which are given, symbolically, to the incarnating soul:

1. Express the will to be and do.
2. Unfold the power to manifest.
3. Enter into battle for the Lord.
4. Arrive at unity through effort.

Creation – Being – Activity – Strife – Synthesis, these are the nature of the Lord of the first constellation and enable Him to influence our planet to these results.

And thus the great cycle of struggle towards expression starts and the foundational words of The Secret Doctrine, with which you are all so familiar, express the goal and the purpose of the first sign of the Cardinal Cross:

“Matter is the vehicle for the manifestation of soul on this plane of existence, and soul is the vehicle on a higher plane for the manifestation of spirit, and these three are a trinity synthesised by life which pervades them all.”  (S.D. Vol. I, 80)

What appears in Aries as spiritual energy enters into the soul stage in Cancer, in which sign the soul incarnates for the first time in form, reaches a point of equilibrium in Libra, in which sign soul and personality achieve a balance of cooperation and, in Capricorn, the will nature arrives at fulfilment and a visioned goal is reached. In Capricorn, the man reaches either the height of personal ambition or he becomes the initiate, attaining his spiritual objective. The difference between these two goals depends upon the mode of progression around the wheel of life. It should be remembered—generalising again and speaking symbolically—that the Crosses also turn, being the spokes of the great wheel. The undeveloped man goes from Aries to Capricorn and to Libra and Cancer, whilst the developed man reverses the process. We could, for the sake of clarity, consider the great experience of life as taking place upon the three wheels within the wheel of Life, viewing it from three angles:

(I.)
1. The Wheel of Incarnation.
2. The cycle of ordinary evolution.

3. The period of captivity, wherein the man is bound upon the wheel.
4. The fourfold influence of the Common Cross.
5. Life in the three worlds.

6. The development of personality.

(II.)
1. The Wheel adjusted or reversed.
2. The cycle of discipleship.
3. The period of emergence, wherein the man alters the revolution of the wheel.
4. The fourfold influence of the Fixed Cross.
5. Life in the five worlds of superhuman evolution.

6. The unfoldment of soul through the personality.

(III.)
1. The wheel controlled or dominated.
2. The cycle of initiation.

3. The period of liberation from the work of the Great Wheel.
4. The fourfold influence of the Cardinal Cross.
5. Life in the seven worlds of our seven planes.

6. Fusion of spirit, soul and personality.

Aries, therefore, starts the process of the “most ancient initiation” which all the human family has already undergone and will undergo. The first great cosmic initiation (as far as humanity is concerned) is initiation into incarnation – the initiation of individualisation. This process culminates aeons later in the reversing of the wheel and the attaining of a definite goal in Capricorn. It culminates in the achievement of transference from off the Fixed Cross on to the Cardinal Cross, which is, in its turn, the logical sequence of the transference from off the Mutable or Common Cross on to the Fixed Cross. Therefore, in its lowest manifestation, Aries is the creator of those activities, conditions and processes which lead to the manifestation of soul through the medium of form, and later of those higher creative undertakings which lead in due time to the manifestation of spirit through the soul. These processes eventually demonstrate the true nature of the triplicity to which I introduced you in the earlier pages of this treatise:

Life – Quality – Appearance.

We have seen that Aries is the sign of beginnings – the beginning of the creative process, the first step of the soul (the microcosm of the already initiated Macrocosm) towards incarnation, the beginning of recurring and constant cycles of experience, the beginning of the period wherein the soul changes its direction, its purpose and its method, and finally enters upon that definitely defined process which we call spiritual regeneration and initiation. There are four words of vital importance upon which we shall ring the changes, as we study the path of evolution, or the progress of the soul around the great wheel, both as a personality and as a disciple, headed towards the final liberating process. These four words express the subjective impulses and motives and, in reality, introduce four different cycles of progress upon the Path in its various stages of individualisation to initiation. They are:

1. Recreation in which the influence of Cancer, combined with that of Aries, produces the pull into incarnation upon the physical plane.

2. Regeneration in which the growing influence of the Fixed Cross, playing upon the Mutable Cross, produces those interior changes which eventually lead to

3. Reorientation or the great cycle of repolarisation which takes place through the influence of Libra (the Cardinal Cross) and the “swerving of the Bull in mid-career,” as it is called in the ancient books. This process of reorientation leads to a passage around the wheel in which, steadily and persistently, the inner subjective man comes into outer manifested expression and the personality recedes into the background. Finally, there come twelve lives wherein the final stage of

4. Renunciation is experienced and the disciple or initiate renounces all for the love of humanity and its service, and lays himself upon the altar of sacrifice. He achieves, as a result, the final liberation.

This liberation is, in reality, twelvefold in nature, for liberation, victory and triumph have to be experienced in every sign, just as captivity, defeat and failure have been experienced in all the signs of the zodiac, whilst the man is functioning as a personality. It is these four words and their significance which will underlie all that I have to say to you anent the dual experience upon the great wheel of life. I would ask you to bear this definitely in mind.

Going through the great cycle from Aries to Taurus, the man reenters the sign Aries again under the potent impression of Taurus, which at this stage of development feeds his ardent desire for the many material advantages of physical incarnation and of constant worldly undertakings; thus after a period of re-creation, he passes out into incarnation in Pisces and begins again the great round of manifested life, for Pisces is the ocean wherein he is “the fish,” controlled by the laws of substance or material existence. In the second great stage, he passes from Aries to Taurus, because desire has at last been transmuted into aspiration. After proving his steadfastness to the ideal of the spiritual life in the intervening signs, he passes again into Pisces, from the opposite direction to his usual procedure, having earned the right to mount the Cardinal Cross of the Heavens, the power to take a final planetary initiation and the privilege of passing on to one of the seven paths to which I have made reference in my other books; these eventually give him “the freedom of the seven solar systems,” as it is called in contradistinction to “the freedom of the seven planetary spheres,” which the experience of initiation has guaranteed him, after a process of intensive training in one or other of the planetary schools (according to his ray type) and the path of service chosen.

You will see, therefore, the significance of the two keywords of the sign Aries:

1. “And the Word said: Let form again be sought” – The Man

2. “I come forth and from the plane of mind, I rule” – The Initiate

Experience leads to rulership and in this sign the man who is embodied first ray force develops the power of organisation, of control over forces, particularly over the energy of death, over the power of destruction applied with love, of dominance over multitudes, of cooperation with the plan and the practice of the Will in rightly and correctly guiding and directing planetary affairs.

Mozart

Mozart #2

Wolfgang Amadeus tragic genius
Pure magic maestro of sound
Your relentless quest for two notes
That loved each other
Made perfect harmony

The consummate artist
Your whole Being a cathedral
For celestial instruments
Reciting musical memories
Of unseen worlds and far flung universes

Did you comb the heavens
For divine inspiration
Or were you born embodying
The spheres of sacred sound

All your 4th Ray bodies
Personified beauty and harmony
And one 3rd Ray physical
For strength and rapid activity
Composing 600 scores
In thirty five years of incarnation

A soul-infused third degree initiate
Your personality foibles and temporal suffering
Belied your spiritual status
Vilified and envied by lesser mortals
Buried a pauper in an unmarked grave

Now a Master of Serapis’s Ashram
You inspire world disciples
To revelations on the horizon of Music and Art
Reflecting cosmic Rays of Beauty and Harmony

And when children in their intuitive way
Innocently pronounce “Most Art” as your name
I assent in reverent silence
And pay homage with love

UFOs & Crop Circles: Their Mission & Meaning

DO YOU BELIEVE IN UFOs?
An unprecedented number have been seen in NZ skies over recent years. World-wide UFO sightings and reports abound on the internet, and Astronauts testify to their existence.

ANCIENT UFOs
Since the dawn of humanity’s history, there have been common myths and legends of UFOs, seen as flying carpets in ancient Arabia, with Biblical figures such as the prophet Elijah taken to heaven in a chariot of fire, the Star of Bethlehem at the birth of Jesus guiding The Magi and magical flying machines, called Vimanas, of ancient India and China.

MODERN UFOs
Today, an unprecedented number of UFOs have been sighted 24/7 across the world.  Why are they here? Where do they come from? What is their mission? Do they herald a global spiritual awakening? Are they here to help Planet Earth at this turning point in human history? What is Earth’s future and destiny? Is there hope for us?

Letter to St Valentine

Letter To St Valentine

LETTER TO ST VALENTINE

Dear St Valentine
Your martyrdom resounds
Through the centuries
An impassioned heart
Guilty only of love

How fiery your flame
Defying laws of the land
A beacon of freedom
To the human spirit
Enslaved by evil tyranny

In this capsule of time
We celebrate your gift
However vaguely remembered
By romantics and poets
Your love essence remains

Yet we only know it now
As a dress rehearsal
For our sentient nature
Clothed in superficial colours
Of glamour and illusion

But a higher love beckons
One we will yet experience
On all planes consciously
The Magnet of the Heart
Will bless the sacred union

Even as I write
The supreme Lord of Love
Prepares His second coming
We await in awe the ultimate impact
Of unconditional love fulfilled

Then every day will be
A celebration of Love
And we will drink deeply
Joyfully yours truly
St Valentine’s Day xxxxx

Do You Live In A Soul City?

There is a tangible vibe about the quality of a city, indicative of the people who live within it who can influence the energy of the city by their mere presence, daily thoughts, creative work and positive actions. The collective stream of energy flows into the ethers and translates into a vibrant hub of external manifestation within the richness and beauty of multi-cultural endeavours and the varied forms of art. Many would call this artistic mani-fest an energy of Soul Expression where the quality of joy, play, beauty, unity and celebration take tangible form, touching the hearts and souls of those who bear witness to the outpouring, and are influenced by it in thought, word or deed.

This collective artistic approach is no longer confined within the walls of city galleries, indoor stages or cloistered venues, but flows out in the summer months into the city streets as Community Festivals, where thousands of people from near and far, gather to celebrate and share freely the bounty of artistic Soul Expression.

Street festivals continue for weeks throughout the regions, in towns, suburbs, domains which collectively form the vibrant pulsating energy that streams into the very heart of the city in which we live, love and have our Being. A beautiful dance of creation and aliveness, a visual feast of sound and colour, which nourishes and energises our very Souls with its potency, beauty and grace.

HOW Dance

The reality of the Soul remains a mystery in our mundane, materialistic, physical world and is yet to be given a place of shared acceptance within our collective main-stream consciousness. Meanwhile, the Soul makes itself known and felt through the sound of music, movement and dance, the stroke of paint and brush, the flourish of a pen, creative inventions and breakthroughs in health, science, education, politics and economics – wherever there’s a field of creative human endeavour for the common good and beneficence – the Soul takes form.

The quality of the Soul is Love – unconditional, magnanimous, inclusive, unifying love – for all humanity and for all the Kingdoms of Nature which underlies the magnificent process of creation on Planet Earth, our home. Soul Love, the essence of who we are, unites us in the creative dance of Life and Death. It recognises the sub-human forms which make up the nature kingdoms – the mineral, plant, animal world from whence we come and without which we cannot survive as a human species. Those below are nourished by those above, and vice versa, and the ancient Hermetic maxim – As Above, So Below – is a truism which resounds throughout the physical and cosmic realms. As custodians of the lesser kingdoms, the actions of the human kingdom, for good or ill, is absolutely vital to the future well-being of our planet for generations and aeons to come.

Soul cities recognise this, and form groups of actively engaged citizenry who beat the drums of peace, and march for justice, freedom and equality for all creation, whether human or animal rights, or the environmental salvaging and restoration of Mother Earth. The onslaught of climate change and global warming sound the alarm bells, alerting us to our planet’s temperature on the barometer which has reached fever pitch. Mother Nature is dangerously ill and needs our help and wise ministrations – urgently!

Governments of the day must take heed, listen to the counsel of its people and to the wisdom of that great Soul, Abraham Lincoln who famously said, “I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet national crises. The great point is to bring them the real facts.” Soul cities hear the warning drums and rise to the clarion call to Save Our Planet. Time is fast running out and “Decade Zero” is here.

On we march to the call that is loud and clear to so many of us while governments of the day fudge, folly, fumble and play deaf in addressing the urgency of the times. Many there are among us who understand the two main triggers which will lay desolate our beautiful planetary home – the threat of nuclear war and the onslaught of climate change rapidly imperilling our eco-systems. Desertification of our rain forests, the lungs of Mother Earth, the toxic fall-out from nuclear pollution, also known as the ‘Invisible Peril’ now permeating the air, water and soil, is found in every body of water, tract of land, and in the ethers. It is destructive to our subtle bodies and cannot be seen with physical eyes – therefore it cannot be measured causatively, aside from the physical effect of its devastation through common diseases which have multiplied ten-fold, including many types of cancer, Alzheimers and congenital deformities of babies born near nuclear fall-out locations – Chernobyl being one of many.

What does the future hold for Planet Earth our Home? There are many wise voices raised to warn us of the urgency of the times and to act now in curtailing further disasters befalling our world as we move closer to the abyss. There is still time to heed Mother Nature’s call as she warns us through the catastrophic fury of natural disasters that play havoc across the planet. It has been postulated that 80% of climate change is due to human activity through pollution, desertification, intensive unnatural farming of both crops and animals, reliance on fossil fuels and so the list goes on. It’s up to individuals, groups, communities, towns, cities, nations to collectively bring the Will to Action and hold their governments to account – especially those who are bribed and paid ‘blood money’ at the behest of powerful greedy corporations, to the detriment of collective humanity and the Kingdoms of Nature.  Is your city an active Peace City with informed engaged citizens? Does it have Soul?

Wellington is a Peace City. It’s also a Soul City and the capital of New Zealand. The statue of Gandhi stands proudly at the entrance to its Wellington Railway Station – symbolic of Gandhi’s numerous travels by train. Lonely Planet named it the coolest little capital in the world! It’s the seat of the NZ government with an unique Beehive Building; it’s the home of the Royal NZ Ballet, National Symphony Orchestra, the National Museum of Te Papa, the World of Wearable Arts (WOW), Fringe and Film Festivals, the sporting Rugby Sevens, the Hall of Memories, The Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and the Carillion – a large bell like instrument. The Hall of Memories consists of six small chapels each of which represent a branch of New Zealand’s armed forces. The Carillion is the third largest of its kind in the world and the only Carillion in New Zealand.

Wellington is also home to many of New Zealand’s cultural creatives – artists, writers, poets, musicians, sports people, actors and the famed film director, Sir Peter Jackson, winner of 11 Academy Awards for The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. He’s a friend of James Cameron, of The Titanic and Avatar fame. They’ve purchased sprawling properties in the Wairarapa, a scenic rural area close to Wellington city. The Cafe scene in Wellington is phenomenal and the totality of the hospitality industry – a ‘mini New York’ cafe scenario. The geography is amazing, from a blue nuclear-free harbour, to luscious green valleys and up into the craggy majestic mountain tops overlooking the city. The multi-cultural vibe and spiritual energy wraps itself around the strong vibrant heart of the coolest little capital in the world with its warm friendly people – a must see Soul City – on your journey around our beautiful Lonely Planet!
